Due to changing labor market demographics, increased workforce diversity, economic disruptions, non-stop technological developments and on-going re-engineering efforts, the role of the supervisor has become increasingly complex. Successful managers must demonstrate strong leadership skills, effective communication techniques and solid negotiating strategies as they work to balance the needs of their organizations with the needs of the people who comprise the organization. To survive and thrive today and prepare for tomorrow, supervisors must expand their knowledge and hone their skills on a continual basis.
The Certificate in Organizational Leadership provides entry-level to experienced managers with the tools to face the challenges of a rapidly changing work environment and prepares them to promote a shared commitment to their organization’s mission and vision. The program is designed for those who want to upgrade their skills and increase their effectiveness, including new and experienced supervisors in the public, private and nonprofit sectors, and manufacturing and service personnel who anticipate advancement.
This certificate is awarded to students who complete the required courses with an accumulated grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher. Andrew Jackson University coursework completed to meet the requirements of a previously-awarded certificate may be applied toward this certificate. No more than 50% of the certificate program can be earned through transfer credit or credit-by-examination. Credit awarded for experiential learning is not applicable to a certificate program. |
